About Mark Bramble

After nearly 39 years in martial arts, and 28 years teaching, Mark Bramble Shihan has taught thousands of students from around the world, including law enforcement, private security, Fortune 100 companies, CEOs, actors, and the public. He is a martial artist, Award-Winning Author, Empowerment Coach, and Film Fight Coordinator.

In 2016, he founded Ninpo US, a national organization for the practice of Japanese Ju-jutsu and Ninpo. Now as Kancho, his focus is on continuing the spread of traditional martial arts through affiliated schools throughout the United States.

Training History

Mark Bramble began martial arts training at the age of 5, in Karate. After 10 years, he began learning from early Genbukan instructor Jesse Shanks Jr. Sensei. During this time he was taught Ninpo, Ju-jutsu, Sambo, Wrestling, Grappling, and Aiki Ju-jutsu.

In 2000, he received his 5th Degree Black Belt and mastership title of Kyoshi. He had to overcome a number of injuries received during hard training, including a severe knee injury received while grappling multiple opponents at once.

Over the next 4 years he cross-trained with numerous instructors, including from the Bujinkan and Manaka Unsui Sensei of the Jinenkan.

In 2004, Mark became a student of the international Genbukan organization and direct student of Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura. For 14 years, he had travelled the world to teach and train with his teacher, earning numerous mastership titles in Japanese Ju-jutsu and Ninpo, and overseeing a large number of groups in the U.S.

After departing the Genbukan, Mark became a student of Duke Meade Sensei, from the famous Ju-jutsu lineage of Sato Kinbei. Now in addition to masterships in the Takamatsu-den systems, he holds Menkyo Kaiden in Yagyu Shingan Ryu Heijutsu Kacchu Yawara and Dawaido Ju-jutsu.
