Onikudaki from an Outside Arm Lock
Onikudaki, as taught from the Takamatsu-den tradition, is typically performed from an inside position on your opponent. In this lesson, we look at a variation of this popular Ninpo martial arts technique, that is performed from an outside position.
Takamatsu-den Style
In Ninpo martial arts, Onikudaki is taught in both Ura and Omote fashion. The technique itself can be applied from a number of positions, including on the ground (Ne Waza), where it is commonly called the “Americana” in modern Jiu-jitsu.
In the Takamatsu-den arts of Japanese martial arts, a specialized hand position is used, which may look quite weak, but allows you to sinch the arm in a more snug fashion.
